The site at Corea Road was built and operated by the U.S. Navy as NSGA Winter Harbor, a communications station, from the mid-20th century until 2002. The site retains that character: remote coastal siting, three-phase power, and substantial existing building stock. It is currently permitted for aquaculture use; any federal or defense-related use would require its own independent review.
